As enthralling as the temples of Angkor may be, there are lots of other things to see and do around Siem Reap. Seeing a bit of Cambodia away from the temples can help avert ‘temple-burnout’ and round out your Cambodian experience as well as help Cambodia by taking some tourist pressure off of the temples and spreading the tourism dollars a bit more widely.

Day 1:  Tuk Tuk City-Tour
- At arrival: Pick up to the boutique-hotel, then get a first overview by exploring the city by Tuk Tuk.  We first visit Wat Bo-pagoda, which is over 100 years old, then continue to the biggest local market in Siem Reap - Pshar Leu (Leu Market) – and finally look around the local night market at Apsara road, which is also close to the old market. We stroll around and have dinner.

+ Morning
- After breakfast a van takes us to the temple of Banteay Samre, where we start our cycling-trip for today. We ride small path in the countryside and pass through little villages, where we can see the daily life of the local people.
The scenery is green and lush and Kulen Mountain is looming before us.  Reaching its foot, we either continue cycling upwards or taking the van up to the waterfall. Here we can swim in holy water, which flows through the Linga River.
- Lunch
+ Afternoon
- Transfer to Banteay Srei (Citadel of women). This temple has a special charm, it is small but exquisite in its decorations, made from hard pink sandstone. Banteay Srei was built in the reign of King Rajendravaraman II and completed in the reign of king Jayavarman V in 967 AD, it is dedicated to the God Shiva (god of Creation and Destruction).
- Then we cycle back in the direction of Siem Reap, on the way we stop at Neak Pean-temple. During the rainy season (October and November) its central tower is full of water, which then reflects the image of the lovely sanctuary. At Neak Pean one can see beautiful carvings, all related to Buddhism. It was built by the great Khmer-king Jayavarman VII.
- We go on to cycle to Preah Khan, which King Jayavaman VII used as a monastery and learning-center and as a dedication to his farther. The rest of the way we sit in the van, fresh up in the hotel and go to have dinner at the Apsara-Restaurant, including show. (Distance 70km) (B.L.D)
